About Me

I co-founded and co-directed South Boston Yoga Center for Health and Wellness in 2008 through it's closing in June 2020, and I have been teaching at Equinox Lifestyle Clubs from 2012 - present. I have led group classes, private sessions, workshops, retreats, and co-directed over 45 200 & 500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certifications in Boston and around the globe. My movement background is extensive spanning 20+ years in Yoga, martial arts, functional movement, and personal training as well as a BA in Eastern Philosophy with a firm foundation in meditation and other internal arts. I teach with a fierce compassion grounded in intelligently creative classes to bring each student to a stronger, firmer understanding of their own body and health potential. I program my students' personal sessions for whole-body balance working gradually towards their health and fitness goals. I have extensive experience working with various injuries and medical conditions.

I do not practice or teach any one exclusive ‘style’ of yoga, training or movement. Yoga is not the asanas. It's the intention. A path towards stilling the waves of the mind, allowing you to witness change without reacting to it. There are many tools to work towards this, and mindful movement and breath is just one of them. You will see many "classic" yoga poses in my classes, and you will see movements taken from strength conditioning and other sources. I bring this same intention into all aspects of my training. I teach my students and clients to move from their center through fun and creative sequencing, static and dynamic stretching, isometric strength development, bodyweight conditioning and arm balancing/inversion work. I encourage transitioning with grace, articulation and control from one movement to the next to develop whole-body core strength, stable alignment, coordination and a greater range of controlled motion. For personal training I encourage bodyweight training as much as possible, and incorporate extra resistance training through bands, free weights, kettlebells, and other types of equipment.

I currently live in Dorchester, MA with my partner and 3 amazing dogs: Prescott, Penny and Agatha (Maltese and two Toy Poodles).
